“ I look forward to the day when I can give back financially to Biola and be an answer to prayer just as others were for me.”
Jose Anaya ('14)
Every year, hundreds of students dream of completing a degree at Biola. But for many, the financial struggle to pay for tuition makes that dream difficult, if not impossible. By establishing a scholarship, you have the opportunity to parnter with our students and invest in their life-changing education.
Currently, over 200 students each year are blessed through generous gifts from this program.
Designated scholarships — Designated scholarships provide direct aid to students within a given area of study or interest based on criteria set by the scholarship originator. The criteria can be based on need, academic discipline, talent in the arts or athletics or merit-based. Funds donated to designated scholarships can be distributed to students in the same year they are given, or can be used to establish an endowment (minimum of $25,000) that will produce scholarship support in perpetuity.
Endowed scholarships — Endowed scholarships are funded through a will or living trust and ensure that Biola's scholarship programs are healthy for the next decade and beyond.
Designated and endowed scholarships can help students in the following areas:
Available to Biola students who demonstrate significant financial need after all institutional resources have been applied and the student still has “unmet need”.
Available to students who are planning on entering into full-time ministry.
Available to students who help build Biola’s reputation and the positive campus environment through their performance-based talents (athletic and music) and who need assistance beyond what the institution is able to provide.
Available to any graduate student at the university who has demonstrated financial need.
